Don Lake just sent me a private e-mail and said that he would be on the island this weekend and that he will try to follow up..
As for the 17 in the last 17 months that I know about, they were of varying skill level, and if memory serves correctly there was a fair amount of them that were very experienced 2000 and 3000 dives...
Bear in mind that I only know about the ones in SoCal and don't really follow Northern Ca. so on a state wide basis the numbers may well be higher...
