Mike, the bc and the suit give me/us two sources of inflation for buoyancy and trim . If I feel overinflated in my suit I vent and add from my bc and vice versa. Again, I have absolutely perfect horizontal trim using suit inflation only; have had for a lot o' years and hours at all depths both here and abroad (UK). The two souces of inflation are simply tools that must be used correctly, with or without dry suit instruction. Better with, of course. Steve Barsky has a book on Dry Suit Diving in all the dive shops for homework prior to formal instruction.
