Officially a $2000 fine and possible jail time for killing a BSB. You may notice the color change in the Times photo. The fish looks almost silvery, this may be due to the flash from the camera but these fish can change to that color when swimming in the open water. They also have a black phase and a spotted phase which they can change to in seconds. Hopefully these were isolated mistaken identity spearings and not an act of malicious mischief.
