I've been diving at Point Lobos and had a wonderful time. Sure, I had to plan ahead a little, but the diving was beautiful and the marine life was unbelievably verdent. Best of all, it was a quiet and reflective experience, unmarred by overcrowding or noise.

What's the big deal? If you want to go diving spur of the moment, there's got to be, what, about a hundred other dive sites in the Monterey-Carmel area you can access?
