Though I'm new to dry suits(35 dives more or less) adding more lead and adding air to your suit seems like the wrong solution to the problem. You noted the air in the leg syndrome the feeling of the air bubble shifting around, doesn't feel right does it? Also, too much air could be hard to vent and cause an out of control ascent. Analyzing your insulation(no cotton), upgrading, or adding another layer is the way to go. I have been using gators but now that I have switched to the method of just adding enough air to the suit to tolerate the squeeze and using the BC for fine tuning the bouyancy the gators may be unnecessary.
