Good question. I'd have to look up this info
more carefully to give an exact number, but I think
I've had about 5-8% failure or dropout rate, maybe
a little more. Most of these have come to this decision
themselves (thankfully). Others have been told they
need remedial work and just never returned. Some people
just abandon the course with no reason given. Students
who really want to dive and are willing to put in
the extra work can succeed, eventually. Some folks do
not belong in the water, and I have no problem letting
them know (tactfully, of course).
