Yeah, I'm in the 10% minority, diving on wrecks with limited viz, sending stuff up at the same time creating my own ascent line.
The non-adjustable cuff dump is a device that frees the hand for other tasks. They do leak, though, especially on the surface with limited water pressure against the seal. Minor inconvenience.
The BC and/or wing and dry suit inflation are tools that we can fine tune to our own particular ease and comfort either separately or together. No set-in-stone rigid rule. No a DIR issue.
