I hope that you do post your story. I'm interested in this subject. In the past year, I've done a lot of pool sessions with children under 13 and three open water sessions.

The pool sessions lead me to believe that the classes need to be small. The short attention span of kids is a major factor. Adults and kids in a class can work, but it can also be a big mistake.

The results of the three open water sessions (seperate classes):
Two rescues - me towing them to shore, dealing with getting them out of cold wetsuits and into warm clothes, parents not around (still in water or being rescued themselves) as I'm dealing with potentially serious problems.
One near rescue (in water where she could still stand, so I don't consider it a water rescue).
Zero certifications.
