Most will tell you about conservation and either a 12 or 24 hour rule and I have NO problem with that recomendation.. However, as an absolute I don't necessarily share the view that it is imperative to wait 24 hours, or even 12 hours for that matter.. But to the extent that you err, you should do so on the side of caution..
