We often dive doubles, but the logic applies equally as well to single tanks [ see Mia Tengner] and of course our logic is that if you have a failure, or if you run OOA you'll have an ALTERNATIVE inflation source, ie: redundancy..

Furthermore, when diving helium based mixes at depth the thermal properties of helium -v- argon are significant notwithstanding additional issues vis a vis a isobaric counter diffusion arguement that may apply thermally, not breathing..

Substantially different from the issue Steve and I discussed several weeks ago...
