(Live from New York . . .)

Don, much as I appreciate you following up on this, as a lawyer, you surely know that we're just perpetuating heresay, not substatiating anything with fact. (Another way to out it would be hearay is not evidence and this would not be admissible in court as fact.)

The guy's story started out as "I've pulled 17 bodies from the Park in the last 3 1/2 years." Now's it's become that he's helped 18 "seriously distressed" divers, half of whom subsequently died.

And the place is called "Death Park."

I still think based on my gut reaction and the information I got from karl at the Chmaber, that this number is not accurate.

There's an easy way to check this out factually, rather than "verifying" with more hearsay from the same source who started the hearsay in the first place. (In journalism you get two independent sources to verify a claim.)

A request for you, Don. Could you please call the Avalon Sheriff's station, and ask them how many deaths they have recorded from divers in the U/W Park or from just outside it (say, within a 200-yard radius) in the last 3 1/2 years.

This should all be mater of public record. Could you please posts the results of the findings here on the BBS in a seperate thread? Thanks.
