Ken,

You will probably have a student walk in with my business card in hand. Wayne and I refered one to you last weekend.
As to the 10 years old certification, do you think, that all adult divers out there have a clue regarding the different laws in diving?
Would you see a 10 years old jumping off the bow of the Peace in high swell and ripping current, definitely not. Would you see her pulling in on the current line at the stern of the boat, probably not. But you might see her straping on a tank and splashing in 12 feet of water at Stingray City, having the time of her life.
No, I don't think that she can make responsible
decisions yet. But she has shown an understanding knowledge about the dangers of holding breath while on scuba, exceeding safe bottom time limits and proper ascent rates.
Therefore, she will be diving with her responsible Divemaster father, which is one the considerations for a certification, among many others.
I look at the entire picture, not just what meets
the naked eye.
