mhk, thanx! much for your post, i certainly appreciate it.

the reason i initially made my query is b/c the advise i was given by some divers was to leave the valve completely open--at least since i was a beginner w/drysuits.

w/the dives i've done thus far in my suit, i have come to the realization that i don't like having the valve completely all the way open all the time during the dive (especially when i raise my arm to reach for something or inflate/deflate the b.c., or roll to one side, etc.) and i've decided that next time i will have the valve halfway closed. some divers have them 1/4 of the way closed. i thought about completely closing it, but then had 2nd thoughts and decided that that would be nice to try, but probably best to leave the valve open some. however, i've gotten to hate leaving the valve completely 100% all the way open.

...i was just curious to know how many other divers had them completely open and how many had them semi-closed/open.

in any event, i appreciate your follow-up.

kelphead.
