I would highly recommend for your skills to forget the weight integration and use a weight belt.

It is possible to remove the integrated BC but it's not easy or fun. Try this, get on one knee with one other knee up and one fin on the floor of the pool. If you follow what I mean, then take the BC off and put the tank facing up resting on the knee that is up, this will hold you down but it takes practice to get coordinated.
