Ken, I'm not trying to nitpick, but the entire premise of the discussion isn't correct because of the sentace above.. We weren't talking about number of *diver's*, we were talking about the number of certifications that PADI issue on an annual basis..
Issuing a certification and diver's [ whether worldwide or in the U.S.] are two completely different things...
Now that being said, I agree with your discussion point which is the numbers are *flexible* to suit the desired conclusion..
Given that the numbers we were talking about came DIRECTLY off of PADI's own website perhaps they would care to explain.. Where they exagerrating to solidify their position as the leaders or do they have access to numbers that others in the business should have???
