I have spent about twenty dives slowly working my way inside the wreck. I have dug and pulled and squirmed and pushed and shoved my way down what used to be a utility passage way that ran in between two decks. Its tight and narrow and filled with snags.

I have cleared out the wires and pipes and debris by taking my gear off and piece by piece making a path. I have also scouped out an enormous amount of sand. Hard work, but fun for a wreck hound. Kinda wierd working in the dark at 165 FSW.

At the end of this pathway is a small room filled with gear, and it used to sit underneath what was the forward starboard torpedo launcher. i believe it the fire and control station. There are switches and knobs and buttons and signs.

Basically I'm a pig in slop heaven. ( Hey, at least I'm easy to please. ) On Monday I will share some scans of the various signs, as I am finally ready to remove a few on Sunday.

Will report on Monday.

Kevin
