I was taught before PADI was even born through an Australian dive shop in Melbourne: class, pool, then shipwrecks in Port Phillip Bay.
My IANTD cards read Nitrox, certified by Dick Rutkowski and Deep Air, certified by a Walker named Johnny. Now THAT one's gonna become a collectors item! ;-)
