"Who the hell are you to review equipment?"

I have been asked to perform independent reviews
of SCUBA equipment since 1997, a service that I
never been paid to do;

http://www.progressivediving.com/staff2.htm

I am very keen to equipment marketing although I
do not sell gear. I do not keep any gear that I
am given for review, I almost always return it or
give it away. EVERY piece of gear I dive with
right now I have paid for myself at no better
price than the typical sport diver can get the
same for. If I do get gear that I want to keep,
I pay for it - it's as plain and simple as that
and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise.

"What experience do you have that warrants people to listen to you anyway? Are you Scuba Lab?"

I have thousands of hours underwater and on dive
boats in CA, Asia, S.America, Hawaii, Florida,
Mexico and the Caribbean. I have dove, and
continue to dive, all kinds of configurations
for all different types of dives - warm,
temperate, ice, fresh, salt, altitude, deep,
shallow, wet, dry, air, NITROX, tri-mix, single
and doubles with and without stage bottles. I am
a recreational and technical DM, and an AI.

I am not SCUBA Lab nor do I desire to be lumped in
with them. They have an agenda that has it's basis
on magazine sales and revenue generating
advertsiements - I have no such basis.

"Does DUI know you are giving away their products?"

I don't know and I really don't care. One of the sets
came with my suit, so I essentially paid for it.
The other was supplied to me by a shop that wanted,
and hopefully respects, my honest opinion on the
product.

I'm not sure why this is even an issue to someone.
Why would you care what I say about a product and my
direct personal expeirence with it? I hold the
same attitude with shops I have dealt with in the
past - In my opinion, If I find value to a shop or
product, I will point it out. I will do the same if
I find no value in a product or shop.

If Chris or one of the editors of this BBS feels
that such a post of review is not Kosher for
this forum, they would have let me know by now.
Until then, take a chill pill and dive already.
