Diving buddies

I am a recently certified (July,2001 in Maui) PADI OWD and live in Hermosa Beach. To begin my diving career, I'd like to take 1 or 2 one day dives (meaning you take a boat out of Long Beach and return the same day) to Avalon, Catalina at the Casino and Pebbly Beach.
They seem to be good dives to gain experience in colder water maybe to 25 ft. I take photos, so it would be a great opportunity because of the clarity. Anytime would be great except the winter months ahead, it may be too cold. Male/female diving buddies would be great. I don't own my scuba equipment, so I'll rent for the day in Catalina. I am an eperienced free diver, but scuba has just begun. Thanks. If interested, please reply.
