Yes, there are some good instructors out there, even PADI ones.
My problem with PADI is that if I teach all the things I do in my NAUI classes,
by their definition, I've exceeded and violated standards! If you want to nitpick
on specific skills, sure, I teach mask removals in mid-water, and a bunch of other
emergency "real-life" skills. One thing I agree with you about is that there is no
standardization of those skills.
