The Scuba "Review" for certified divers can also be used as the format for a Scuba "evaluation" of students referred by another insturctor. In the case of a referral, the student will have paperwork that list which skills they have learned from their previous instructor. It's always a good idea to check for oneself to see how well the student learned those skills from the previous instructor. (After a few bad experiences, I've told instructors that I will not go to the ocean with "Warm Water Referrals" unless their skills are first evaluated in confined water.) Referral students are not expected to demonstrate skills that they have not yet been taught.
