im a cook, not a chef !!!

these days, if you want to have a romantic dinner-in with a lady friend, you have to do the cooking yourself. guy thing, now days. younger women have pretty much totally rebelled from cooking.

i have normally tried to keep the recipes simple.

white potatoes
onions
celery
fresh parsley
whole milk
pepper
salt or garlic salt (garlic has a strong aftertaste)
seafood (abalone trimmings are very good)
butter salted or unsalted

stirfry the ab trimmings in the butter.
add onions & cook til soft.
add water & bring to boil (enough for 2 servings)
chop potatoes & add to boiling water.
add chopped celery.
cook until the potatoes start to dissolve.
salt & pepper mildly to taste.
add fresh parsley before serving.
simmer for awhile.

the celery leafs taste as good as the celery and can go in too. the onions should be chopped fine.

i have found this tastes good with chardonnay & sashimi abalone & lemon & fresh french rolls. i like to dip my french rolls into the chowder.

you also need 2 candles and a match.
