Bill,

GUE is still a growing agency and are not in a rush to get more diver's into the fold and will not rush putting together a program just to gain market share.

GUE started in the technical environment and used their cave and technical and rebreather courses as there starting block. Given that the founders of the agency were all former high level position holders of various agencies they chose to conecntrate their limited time and resources into putting together their technical diving programs first. Subsequent to the roll out of these programs GUR began developing and rolling out programs that were more designed for the average recreational diver's. To that end they rolled out their Fundamental program.. The next program that will be rolled out is the Troix program which talks about the use of hyperoxic helium based mixes in the 80' + range.. Subsequent to the roll out of that program you will see a open water program introduced.

Andrew Georgitis is the training director of GUE and he has alreadt submitted the preliminary outline to JJ for his review and comments. My sense is that it will be a few months before Andrew and JJ settle on the given paramaters and then you'll see the open water program..

Hopefully that clears it up...

Later
