P02 means the Partial Pressure of the oxygen component of the gas..

1.6 refers to the *limit* that you would run your oxygen content. Oxygen becomes taxic at depth which result in a convulsion. If that happens underwater you'll die so you don't want to run your oxygen content at greater than 1.6 while you are doing deco.

You compute P02 by multiplying your ATA by your depth.. To arrive at your ATA you use the following formula (depth/33) + 1..
