just try it for a dive or two! it really WORKS to My advantage and the gear's! I find it easier to get in and out of the straps both in and out of water while maintaining a 3finger fitand Hogarthian single continuous piece of webbing with ONE buckle at the waist! AND the angles make the transition over my shoulders and under my arms more comfortable! So much so that I AM selling my Dive-Rite ABS backplate with deluxe harness because my Halcyon is now the most comfortable rig I have! before crossing the straps it was cutting into my armpits and collarbone. People are built different and I like the crotchstrap and crossed straps! jb
