But you see, it is good enough for me to work with...in a forgiving environment like Cozumel or California.

But when the ante gets upped like diving a cave, then no, it's not good enough and I'll only dive with other DIR divers.

Half jokingly I have a continuum:

Cozumel: Anyone, any equipment, anytime.
Ice and the mud pits we call lakes here in Colorado: You gotta have your head screwed on straight.
Cave: DIR only.
