My intructors told us that those chapters existed and that we had to turn in the knowledge reviews, but that no class time would be spent on the topics and that there were no test questions from the chapters. Good intructors are not the automatons that some seem to think they are. My primary instructor told me that material was bs and he wasn't going to waste time on it. We spent more time talking about who knew what they were doing and who was just out to make a buck.
