1st- the BP is EASier to lose in a situation than all the gimmicks I've tried and made for myself!( I was once proud of my Dive-Rite Deluxe with a special arrangement that got me out of the rig QUICK but in comparison the Deluxe harness had 5 quick clips My BP ONE, at the waist where everyone knows one will be)
2nd- the BP is less likely to be the item you want to dump than ANY jacket style BP rarely snags like jackets
3rd- With a long hose is easy to remove and work on UNDERWATER, where it is usually best to handle a problem if possible.
