Learn about buoyancy and don't overly rely on a BC like many new divers who get into this elevator type diving. Let air out go down put air in go up. Diving started without BC's and there are divers today who still pratice this art. The BC can add safety but it also doesn't if used improperly. I'll see divers with their BC fully inflated at the surface, some BC's have 85-100 pounds of lift. That diver must be overweighted. I don't need any air in my BC after using the air in my tank to stay floating.
