i think you should leave that backplate at home unless you are cave diving. if i have to rescue you in the open Ocean, i want to be able to get good buoyancy out of your B/C, so i will want to be able to ditch all your weights. and you cant ditch a backplate. so your backplate is also a hazard to me as i try to rescue you, Buddy.
you dont have to be "kewl" and dive with a sexy backplate all the time to try to impress all the scuba bunnies. so leave it home once in awhile.
