GlobalStar tried to suck up the business left by
the original Irridium launch early last year. They
can be equated to the SatPhone commerce equivilent
of vultures AFAICT.

Trust me here, check you severence costs and flush
whatever user agreement you may have with
GlobalStar for end to end Earth coverage and
contract with Irridium directly if you can do so.
The new Irridium is free and clear of the old
startup and hardware cost liabillities and offers
newer technology at a much cheaper hardware and per minute cost. In most cases, it's cheaper than ship to shore VHF Operator radiotelephone.
But enough of this SatPhone crap (it's miniscule to my business) I might as well advertise at this point. Did Truk in Feb of 97 for NHK, so I'm
looking for a new challenge - on site at anti-He Bikini if I had my choice. Who want's to go live from Truk with live VANDA and data???

Who's got an open checkbook? I'm network broadcast
proven and expensive.
