Question,

When is it ok to dive non-dir if you are a DIR advocate? For example, if you were on a business trip to miami and wanted to dive say Lauderdale by the sea (easy beach dive with non surf entry 15-25 ft deep) and you didn't have DIR gear with you would you pass on opportunity and why? I mean most of us didn't start out DIR and lived through over diving adventures. And I don't want some 'calculated risk' mumbo jumbo as this type of diving I am referring to presents as much risk as a bath tub. I travel a lot for business and I cannot carry my SS backplate in my briefcase...so should I not go diving?
