I will say that in my observation the fitness thing is usually the last of the DIR principles to be adopted.
The gear itself IS way more streamlined than Jacket and Bungee type gear.

...I like it! No arguement there.
I, being a "sockpuppet", find that we get called that if our postings are not signed with our "given" names.
"Strokes" is a term overused and often incorrectly to indicate a diver that exhibits unsafe SCUBA behavior. If the person saying that to you has no direct knowledge of your abilities or practices...well, just consider that part not applicable to you.
Sometimes some of us get "caught in the net" of generalization. Try not to be sensitive here...I have found that not much of the Mud slung here will fly in person and arch enemies on the BBS can be just a couple divers on a beach having a fun time.
