Generator X, What do you base your info. on? I know for a fact that ScubaLab (owned by the late Jon Hardy, ScubaLab is now no longer in business)would do the testing of various types of dive equipment for Rodales and when testing of equipment ie. reg's, fins, bc's etc. set up, they (scubalab) would ask the Manufacture for that particular item. Now if the Manufacture did not wish to have their item tested against other like items from other Manufacture's ScubaLab would purchase the item and test it anyway. The testing was done by a team of divers (all real world divers)diving various conditions at various depths at the same time and each individual would then grade the item according to a system that was set up. This was real testing done honesty and not just some lip service to sell a magazine.
