Make sure you check your regs regularly for wear, especially the hose ends. I was just reminded of this recently.
I was replacing my old sherwood "octo" with my new apeks digs, and moving the sherwood to a reg for my dad to use in his pool sessions. I pulled the hose protector off to get a better grip with the wrench, when I noticed that the rubber had cracked, revealing the steel mesh of the hose. That would have been an ugly blowout had it gone underwater.
I'll be checking my hoses regularly from now on.
