Its kind of like choosing where to go to School. Who says great divers don't come out of other programs, not me as I dive with (and my preferred buddies are) not GUE certified. We do subscribe to similar tactics/gear etc. Once again it relates to quality of instruction which, unfortuniately, cannot be totally controled via 'organizational standards and practices'. Just as at the University, you may have had professors who 'just showed up' and then had those that really drove you to think, ponder, and stretch your imagination. Who is your instructor and what will you do with the training they offer? These are more important than what agency and what gear...GUE doesn't cut up your card if you don't do it right. You always have your brain so use it as you wish.
