This is not an issue to be flippant with. I had a conversation with a Coast Guard official today and he indicated that if he boards my boat and finds a passenger without ID he will be arresting the passenger and removing them from the vessel. Felony charges may be placed against the passenger and the Master of the vessel.
Searches may be made for weapons (guns or bombs)and of course, drugs. Any items mentioned above will result in additional problems for the boat owner and crew.
We are obviously caught in the middle of this and cannot afford to be derelict. Please respect our position during this difficult time.
