I have used a maximus for the last three years. I like it. I have had it to 120ft in cold water and it breathes just fine. You have to get used to the underarm routing. You will be breathing from the "long hose" if you want to get into one of those DIR arguments :) You will also have an issue with your backup reg if it is also on the standard octo length hose.
I think the Oasis/Blizzard would be a better choice than the Magnum or Brut.
