they aren't as good as the ScubaPros and I'll "splain" The Halcyon ones use the same "ring" as they (and everyone else too) in the plastic camstraps, It is open ended and it CAn be bent which renders it useless. As we have just seen not all dive mishaps ocurr in the scuba shop pool. The ScubaPro are a sealed , closed ring and it is virtually impossible to bend it without a vise and hammer. I have never heard of a ScubaPro Camband failure but have witnesses two myself and heard of a few others with Halcyons both the plastic AND the stainless. That open ring is the weak point. I guess they have a few thousand in stock and are getting rid of them while they tool up to "Make It Right"
That said... my Halcyon Backplate is the BEST rig EVER, specially with Jim Hoffman's STA!!!!
