That was the context! As I recall, someone on Quest asked him if rebreathers, not CIS Lunar/Inspiration/etc, were DIR. He responded no. I will attempt to find the cite when I have time.
I never asserted he was using the wrong gear. I simply stated that he stated that rebreathers were not DIR and that he used a rebreather.
I propose he dive the way he wants to, which he does anyway.
I just love your false premises.
