Went diving where guys are usually surfing big lefts at Salt Creek Beach in Orange County, Ca last night. No waves at all and only 10 m.p.h. onshore windchop to contend with. I thought the rocky point break would have a lot of bugs since no one dives there but too much sand is constantly moving from one side of the point to the other to allow for any holes the bugs could chill in. Did see a few babies in the lush eel grass beds that flourish there. Vis was at 25+ ft. Lots of big calico and other rocky reef fish due to the untouched nature of the place. A place you would definately want to spearfish on a calm day. Gotta get out there in the kayak with the structure finder to see what lays farther out to sea.
