I use a small iron usually. 11 inch by 1 inch by 1/4 inch. I can take any ab with it, but have been beat by some scallops. Abs at Begg Rock are on so good you need more than that to get them off. Those I hold open with stick and cut out the meat. I do have my old high school metal shop forged and milled ab iron (or dive sword) that will pry off any scallop or open a vending machine for that matter, but then I don't need much of a weight belt with it.
Fresh scallops are sooo good.
