Generally I use the following and it seems to work out well for people

10% of body weight for a 6.5mm + (tank allowance)

Tanks
+7lbs for AL
+3lbs for LP & HP Steel

for a 5mm pull off 20 of the before tank amount.

example for a 200 pounder in a 5mm with an AL 80.

200lbs = 20 - 4 + 7 =23

Experienced people may be able to drop 1-3 lbs, rookies may need 1-3 extra. Extremely fit or overweight people will need to drop or add as needed.
