I found a thigh pouch made by Dive Rite that I like. It has a wide strap that velcros across your thigh, and two inch strap that I bring up around my pocketed weight belt. (Actually the 2" strap is supposed to go up around the cumber bun, but I think it is less risky on the weight belt).
My BC is weight integrated so I'm only carrying 2 - 3pounders in the front pockets on each side of the weightbelt buckle (6lbs total). So, theoretically I could dump those two weights without ditching the belt, and then move on to ditching the integrated weight pouches next, or visa-versa.
The pouch is big enough for an extra mask, spare light, and mini-wonderbar (for prying scallops).
