What I saw on a recent trip, it caught more fish
than bug. I believe that was mostly due to where
it was being laid - in deeper water than where
the bugs were hanging out at that time.

I have seen hoops used many times when the right
bait was put in and the location was choice. They
were always full of lobster - but not always
legals. I used to use hoops for crabs up in
Humboldt County near some property I own with
excellent results.

I still prefer to nab them myself. I have a trick
I am going to try out on my next outing. What is
it? It's a secret - can't tell you... yet I will
say it doesn't require a hooking device, stick,
nylons, or any other impliment. It will allow a
single diver to get bugs deep in the holes.
