It varies from year to year. I live at Pt. Fermin, so when I see the squid boats out there with their lights (which are only 50% as brigh5t as they used to be thanks to CF&G) I start planning my night dives. Redondo Canyon and the Newport Canyon are about equal distances from shore, so whichever place you are closer to,you will probably see the same animals.
