As for acclimatization, I recall the Navy and Zhang looked at acclimatization through the mechanism of depleted complement. Second dives increased complement activation-suggesting future dives would be made in a complement depleted state. Thus the theory that the lowered complement reduced the risk of DCI from immune system related response to post dive vascular bubbles. I don't know whether they carried through enough to see a significant difference in incidence of from DCI.

As for Kane, our Doppler studies suggest he's a mutant.
