Try the Sandeaters website. It has a lot of good information on local beach dives, with helpful pictures.

There is also an excellent book by Dale & Kim Scheckler (pulbishers of California Diving News) entitled "Southern California's Best Beach Dives" (I found my copy at Sports Chalet).
Diver.net also has a wealth of information avaiable.
