You are one of the luck ones with the VR3, most people I know that have em had them fail...
The early ones seemed to be the most reliable but had very high battery drains..

The replacement VR3 should be better but we will have to see....
I know one person who had 6 different Vr3 units fail..

I have had an explorer since february and its been stable.. I had the original software that was released 1.06, I sent the unit in to be upgraded to
1.15, and just mailed in the unit to have the power mod and update to 1.17.

They have been very slow delievering units, and almost all problems I have seen was due to not reading the manual
and overtightning the battery compartment. I delievered units to 7 different people and they are using them without problem.
1 person had a trouble on his 1st dive, but after pointing out the potential bettery problem all has been ok..

When I dive CCR (without helium)I run it side by side with the cochran that also does constant Po2 and they both perform well.
