Got curious from seahunt's question, so I went to the DFG site and asked this question (almost verbaitm from seahunt's post below):
"For sport purposes, If a person were to put abalone trimmings on some particular place on a reef and then look there later for lobster, would that violate any F&G laws?"
Here is the answer I got this a.m.:
"There would be no violation as long as the season, gear and limit laws were adhered to.
